  • Michel Platini will discover if he has a future among football's power-brokers on Monday when the verdict of his appeal against a six-year ban from the sport is announced.UEFA president Platini and his FIFA counterpart Sepp Blatter were FUT Coins given eight-year bans from all football by FIFA's ethics committee last December.



    Those sanctions were reduced to six years by a FIFA appeals panel in February but both men immediately took their cases to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.     The verdict is due to be published on the Lausanne-based body's website at 10am BST.At the hearing, a relaxed Platini said: 'We're at the beginning of the game, a new game, in the final. Of course, I am optimistic that we are going to win.'What such a win, if it comes, may look like is of huge significance to UEFA, and, to a lesser degree.
