It looks like your problem is similar, but differs from the original question. I just recently upgraded to Win 7. This site in other languages x. My drive was a DH16A1P.

What was the external drive you connected, just out of curiosity? The manufacture date is July Can it be crossflashed? Certain software would not write to my DVD disks. Burn On, Russell PS.
Note – a friend of mine suggested that for some reason some drives have a problem reading certain types of discs from certain manufactures. It was pulled from an eMachine Desktop.

Thinking Win8 might be the issue, I plugged in an external USB drive and everything works just fine on that drive. Thanks for marking this as the answer. Sorry this xh-16a1p help. I assume this is the underlying reason why Nero behaves the same way.
Eh-16a1p am not sure if the DH series is equivalent to the LH drives. Thanks for your feedback, it helps us improve the site.
Somehow the ASPI interface is different and it is munging the information read back from the drive. I have the same problem. In reply to Shubham’s post on April 27, It does not work.
I know nothing about cd, dvd drives and I was going to just buy a new pioneer drive.
